3 Beauty Treatments For You To Whizz Up At Home

You don't need to raid your local chemists or the nearest pharmacy to find the right ingredients for homemade skin care treatments. Nor do you need a maths degree to work out the different dosages. These three beauty and skincare treatments are easy to whizz up and use ingredients you will find in your fridge and kitchen cupboards!

1. A homemade Oil Cleanser

Ingredients - Oil and that's all! Olive or coconut oil are good options.
Instructions :
a. Pour a bit of oil on to your palms and warm it up.
b. Gently massage it on to your face and eyes (keep them closed!) to get rid of makeup and impurities.
c. Remove the oil using a cotton pad - better than a tissue, which could irritate your skin.
d. You can always add the juice of half a lemon to your oil for an anti-bacterial and antioxidant action.
Result: A squeaky clean, supple, nourished complexion without a trace of make up in sight!

2. Homemade Sugar Scrub

Ingredients - A tablespoon of white caster sugar, a tablespoon of vegetable oil (olive, walnut, argan), and two drops of lemon or grapefruit essential oil.
Instructions -
a. Mix up the ingredients in a bowl with a spoon until you get a moist, sandy paste.
b. Add a bit of hot water if the paste needs thinning.
c. Massage the paste on to clean, dry skin using light circular movements, working from the centre of your face out. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
Result: smooth, dewy skin!

3. Homemade Honey Face Mask

Ingredients - One egg white, one tablespoon of runny honey, half tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, one tablespoon of yoghurt or fresh single cream
Instructions -
a. Beat the egg white until you get a fluffy consistency, then add the honey and lemon juice.
b. Add the yoghurt and blend until you get a smooth mixture.
c. Slather it all over your (clean!) face and neck, but avoid your eye area.
d. Pop a towel around your shoulders as it can be a bit runny and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing off.
Result: the moisturizing, smoothing yoghurt will refresh your tired features, whilst its calcium content will boost skin cell renewal. As for the honey, it is packed with mineral salts, vitamins and amino acids, all which soothe and soften skin.

So there you have it, three quick and easy beauty treatments that you can make with ingredients from your kitchen. You don't need to visit fancy spas and get expensive facials, these natural remedies will leave you with soft and glowing skin at a fraction of the price.
