DIY Special: Natural Skin Loving Homemade Cleansers

DIY Special: Natural Skin Loving Homemade Cleansers

Taking care of your skin is prudent if you want to always remain radiant. These homemade, natural, skin-loving cleaners will help you achieve the perfect face tone from the comfort of your home. There's nothing easier or quicker.

Dig out a bottle of olive/walnut oil or treat yourself to some pure argan oil. Pour a dollop onto your palm, let it warm up, and then massage it on with your fingertips using large, circular movements. Added plus? Massaging will give your circulation a stimulating boost! Apply the oil using a cotton pad if you're wearing waterproof eye make-up. Any excess oil can be washed off with an emollient soap. Finish off with a spritz of thermal water for squeaky clean skin.

Honey's not only great as a face mask for dry skin during winter but also as a moisturising cleanser. Mix three tablespoons each of mineral water and milk with two tablespoons of honey. Blend until you get a smooth, uniform paste. Apply to your face, paying attention to heavily made up areas (lips, eyes, etc.), but go gently so that you don't irritate your skin.

Sugar is perfect if you're after a gentle face scrub. Mix a tablespoon each of white sugar and vegetable oil, add a few drops of lemon or grapefruit essential oil, and blend until you get a granular paste. Apply to clean, dry skin using small, circular movements, working out from the centre of your face. Rinse it off with warm water. This will get rid of dead cells and any grime (make up, pollution, smoke, etc.) that may be suffocating your skin.

You'll need half a mashed up avocado, two spoonfuls of honey, and two egg whites. Beat up the egg whites until they're stiff, add the avocado and honey, and mix until you get a thin paste. Slather on a thick layer and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse with warm water for baby-soft, clean, and moisturised skin.

To close your pores and prevent them from clogging, apply apple cider vinegar twice a week. Moisten your face with a spritz of thermal water and apply the apple cider vinegar with a cotton pad. Let it dry and rinse off with cold water.

To clean and freshen up your face, pour a cup of boiling water onto a handful of lemon balm and let it brew for 20 or so minutes. Apply this toner daily to complete your cleansing routine and banish any remaining grime. It’s a one-stop solution for a clean, soft, glowing complexion!
