How to Get a Perkier Backside

Have you ever looked at photographs and videos of models and celebrities and wondered how their derriere always looks so perfect? Whatever the shape of your buttocks, they'll look better when encased in soft, smooth skin. After a winter spent wearing trousers and tights, skin can look a little dull or dry. Here is how you can get your backside swimsuit-ready for the summer.
Tip
1

Exfoliate

To undo the damage and get rid of dry and dull skin, hop in the shower and, using circular movements, apply a body scrub to damp skin, moving in circular movements, to help kick start circulation in the area. As well as sloughing off dead cells, creating smoother skin, regular exfoliation and massage also helps to tackle that dreaded orange peel effect. Use the White Perfect Anti-Dullness scrub by L’Oréal Paris to remove all the dead skin cells and reveal smooth and radiant skin.
Tip
2

Firming cream

Once dry, apply a caffeine-based firming cream to reduce cellulite and dimples. The previous exfoliation will help the active ingredients in the cream to absorb faster. Remember to massage the product in firmly to help encourage lymphatic drainage, this will help to detoxify the skin and keep those dimples firmly at bay.

3

Exercise

Time to tone up and get smooth buttocks and legs. Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the ground. Take a deep breath through your nose. As you exhale, tilt your pelvis upwards and squeeze your buttocks together. Hold this position for five seconds. Two tips - don't jerk and keep your abdomen pressed to the ground to avoid arching your back. Repeat 50 times. Yes, it may be tough but once you've done it a few times, it will get much easier. Do it daily and you'll notice a difference within a few weeks.

Engage your glutes

This is a brilliant way to tone up while you're out and about or pottering around the house. All you have to do it squeeze your buttocks together and hold for ten seconds, drawing in your stomach simultaneously to tone it too. Do it for a minute at a time. Another good one to try while you're brushing your teeth or waiting in a queue is to lift one leg, tilt it slightly back and hold for thirty seconds, before doing the same on the second leg.
