    What is salicylic acid? Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid that is known for reducing mild to moderate acne by exfoliating the skin and keeping pores clear. Salicylic acid works best for blackheads, whiteheads and prevents future breakouts. This BHA product is oil soluble and penetrates through the lipid layers between the skin cells readily and at a deeper level. Using salicylic acid products helps the skin shed dead cells from the top layer and decreases redness and inflammation which in turn leads to the reduction of pimples. Other benefits of salicylic acid for the skin includes controlling sebum production, regularizing the flow of oxygen and restoring the moisture of the skin.
