5 Reasons To Pull On Your Running Shorts

5 Reasons To Pull On Your Running Shorts

Good weather and being outdoors go hand in hand, so why not add a jog to your daily routine? Running is easy, you can do it anywhere, anytime and it costs almost nothing; all you need is a decent pair of trainers. Not convinced? Here are five facts to get you brimming with enthusiasm.

A pair of trainers and a supportive bra, and away you go. A new exercise regime is the perfect excuse to go shopping, so you could treat yourself to a new sporty outfit to ensure you look the part. The important thing is that you can go for a run any time you like, alone or with a pal. You can jog at your own pace, take as much time as you need and no one will be there to judge you (unless you have a judgemental pal). If you can, try to avoid heavy traffic areas; your lungs will thank you for it.

Unlike other sports, you don't need to learn how to run or join a club, which certainly helps the purse strings. Make sure you have a good stretch and hydrate your body before you set off, to avoid cramps. Then it's just a question of breathing properly and pacing yourself.

Of course, this is the whole point of going for a run (not the new outfit, OK?). Running at a steady pace tones up our figure, maintains our stamina and gives our hearts a great workout : our heart muscles are stimulated when we exercise, which accelerates blood circulation and improves oxygenation.

Stressed, anxious or angry? If you're feeling out of sorts, don't stay at home stewing over things; pop on your trainers and go for a run. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out what's going on in our heads, but one thing's for sure; exercise helps clear the mind and makes us feel better. It's a no-brainer... you'll end up with a positive attitude and a healthy body to match.

Running is one of the few sports where you can choose where you go. So make the most of it by exploring a new part of town, jogging down a pretty avenue, crossing the local park or heading to a lake where you can finish off by relaxing by the water. We'll see you there.
