SOS Help How to Correct Uneven Skin in 20 Minutes

SOS Help How to Correct Uneven Skin in 20 Minutes

The quest for a bright, glowing complexion can seem never-ending, but it doesn't have to take long. Here's a routine that will get you an even skin tone and make you look radiant, even if you are in a rush.

1. Exfoliate – 3 minutes
A gentle facial scrub helps to rid the skin of dead cells that are clogging up the pores and contributing to dullness. Use gentle, circular movements with a fine grain scrub so as not to harm the skin, or try a toner containing gentle acids (AHAs such as glycolic or lactic acid or BHAs such as salicylic acid) to slough off dead skin cells. Even a quick once-over with your favourite cleanser and a face cloth can do wonders. Just make sure you avoid the fragile eye contour area and concentrate on the sides of the nose, where blocked pores and blackheads most commonly occur.

2. Purify – 10 minutes
A clay mask has multiple benefits and will purify, refresh and draw out impurities, meaning fewer blackheads and spots. Apply a thick layer of a clay-based mask to a cleansed face and leave it on for 10 minutes while it dries. Then, simply rinse off with lukewarm water and follow with your favourite toner and moisturiser.

Use the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Exfoliate and Pore Refining Mask to refine your skin in just 10 minutes. The Red Algae extract in this clay mask scrubs away the rough skin and unclogs pores to give you a polished, pore-minimized, and smooth complexion.

3. Moisturise – 2 minutes
Hydrate your face using a lightweight moisturiser. Don't skip this step if you've got oily skin: doing so will make your skin produce even more sebum to compensate for the lack of hydration. Opt for creams that are non-comedogenic (pore-clogging) and which contain sebum-regulating agents such as glycolic acid. A key ingredient to look out for is vitamin C; as well as being brilliant at preventing colds, when applied topically, it can really help to even out skin tone by fading any dark patches. And remember to always apply an SPF, whatever the weather. If your moisturiser doesn't have one already built in to it, be sure to seek out a separate product. Preventing any further sun damage will help you to avoid the pigmentation marks that lead to an uneven tone in the first place.

4. No-makeup makeup – 5 minutes
This is where make-up comes into play. Silicone-based primers will help to blur the surface of the skin and leave a unifying film across it, minimising the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes and pigmentation. Apply concealer or a little foundation where needed.

Whether you slept through an alarm and are late for a presentation or want to get a glowing complexion before your dinner date, this quick and easy skincare and makeup routine will help you correct your uneven skin tone in just 20 minutes.
