Not enough sleep, poor quality sleep, or insomnia? You struggle to wake up each morning and it shows with bags and dark circles under your eyes. To combat this, you need to go on the attack with caring and soothing eye products. Read on to know how to tackle those pesky under-eye bags and dark circles. You will soon have sparkling eyes and be ready to face the day.
1. Cucumber to the rescue
With its high water content, cucumber is known for its hydrating qualities. Before going to bed, put two slices on your eyelids for 10 minutes to rest your eyes. You will wake up fresh as a daisy.
2. Choose a brightening concealer
Choose the colour of your concealer one tone lighter than your skin and put one dab in the corner of your eye and two dabs under the eye. Blend in gently with your fingertips, working from the inside corner to the outside. Do this and your dark circles have disappeared!
3. Remove makeup carefully
Do not rub your eyes to remove waterproof mascara. This will just irritate this ultra-delicate area of the face. Instead, go gently, using light gestures without stretching the skin nor pressing too hard.
4. Use some spoons
Put two spoons in the freezer for 15 minutes and then place them on your eyes, with the bowl against the skin. Cold is well known for reducing swelling and toning up the skin.
5. Give yourself a relaxing massage
Gently massage the area around your eyes with the index finger, starting from the inner corner and patting the eye to stimulate the blood circulation. This relaxes tired eyes.
6. Use an eye cream
There's nothing simpler! Use an eye contour cream to hydrate this area, smooth away fine lines, and boost micro circulation. These products, enriched with repairing and draining active ingredients, will improve tone and elasticity in this delicate area. Try the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Moisturizing Eye Cream to moisturize the skin around your eyes, boost radiance and freshness, reduce wrinkles, and reverse the signs of ageing. The Centella Asiatica and Protinol A in the Revitalift Moisturizing Eye Cream enhance the skin density and leave the skin feeling more toned.
7. Try cornflower water
A few drops of distilled cornflower water in the eye will brighten eye whites and give you a fresh look. It's a natural remedy that soothes and revitalises.
8. Tea to wake up your eyes
Infuse two tea bags; preferably black or green, and leave them to cool, before placing them over your closed eyes. Theine, the oxidised polyphenols within tea is known for its stimulating properties, and the
tanin reduces puffiness and soothes the eyes. After just a few minutes, you will look wide awake once again. Camomile tea also does the same thing.
Whether you pulled an all-nighter for work or stayed up all night binge-watching your favourite show online, waking up to tired looking eyes is never a pleasant feeling. Refresh your dull eyes and brighten up your under-eye area with these simple tricks and start your day with a twinkle in your eyes.
