How can I brighten up my dull skin?

How can I brighten up my dull skin?

Dull skin is linked to slowed down cell renewal and a reduction in collagen; the skin no longer reflects the light and loses its natural glow. But identifying the causes of dull skin is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Firstly, because there is no predisposition to greyish skin. All epidermises can be affected. Then, because there are so many reasons behind it: pollution, smoking, dehydration, stress, fatigue, rich foods, UV, hormone changes, lack of exercise, etc. Instead of combatting each of these factors separately, appropriate skin care and some well chosen makeup will bring some glow back to our skin.

Exfoliation is the first step, to reduce the size of your pores, activate microcirculation, and get rid of dead cells that block pores and generate this dull skin look. Once or twice a week, gently exfoliate your skin before applying a mask that meets your needs: a purifying one for the T zone, moisturising for the cheeks, rejuvenating for around the eyes. Finally, choose skin care that is rich in antioxidants, which combat the free radicals that dull the skin. Special radiance creams and serums, based on fruit acids that fight dead cells and exfoliate the skin, can be used as a cure in the winter. But, very sensitive skin should stay away!

To make your skin tone more radiant, our tip is to apply a primer, which will smooth out the skin and offer greater hold for your makeup, while adding a touch of glow to your face. This should ideally be used after your cream and before your foundation, but the busiest among us may prefer to mix the primer with the foundation. Once you have applied your foundation, before moving onto blusher or bronzing powder, try dotting some highlighter onto your face (one tone lighter than your natural skin): on your forehead, on your cheekbones, on the nose, on the chin, on the outer corners of the eye These different points attract and retain the light for smooth, illuminated and glowing skin.
