As for makeup, make sure you only use products that are specially formulated for sensitive skin. They must be non-greasy, non-comedogenic and hypo-allergenic. You should try and use fewer products to limit your risk of reaction and irritation. For your complexion, opt for liquids or creams that offer some hydration, instead of powders, which tend to dry skin out.
Certain consumption habits, such as spicy foods, alcohol, and coffee tend to aggravate redness on sensitive skin. They stimulate micro-circulation and can, therefore, become an irritant. You should also avoid extreme temperatures and UV rays as much as possible. Also, sensitive skin does not agree with formulas that are too perfumed or too concentrated in irritating substances. You should eliminate products based on fruit acids, vitamin A acid, soaps, chemical solar filters, and scrubs that are too abrasive. The less strain there is on the skin, the better it behaves!
